Physics Club
A student-led community dedicated to scientific curiosity, problem-solving, and exploring physics beyond the classroom.
Involvement
The Physics Club was recently reinstated after struggling to operate consistently following the pandemic, and part of our goal is to rebuild an active STEM community on campus. As Treasurer, I manage club finances, coordinate with school administration, and help support activities that encourage scientific curiosity and engagement with physics beyond the classroom. The club provides opportunities for students to discuss scientific concepts, explore challenging problems, and connect with others who share an interest in STEM. This semester, we hosted a guest speaker from Magnefy, who discussed the company's technology for monitoring electrical equipment in factories and power grids, as well as the engineering challenges involved in developing and deploying these systems.
What I've Gained
Physics has strengthened my ability to approach complex problems through analytical reasoning, modeling, and evidence-based thinking. The discipline's emphasis on understanding systems, identifying underlying principles, and evaluating assumptions has influenced the way I approach both software development and engineering challenges. Through the club, I have also engaged with a broader STEM community, developed leadership experience, and helped support student involvement in science-related activities.
